TRADITIONAL & SPORT KARATE CLUB
This page was updated on 13th September 1998 9TH ENGLISH INTERNATIONAL KARATE OPEN (Crystal Palace 4/5/6th September)

8 members of the TSK Karate club were selected from all 65 student of the TSK to compete in this years English International Open.

Friday: Individual Kata & Teams were on this day, Katie Hurry reach the last 16( coming 9th Overall in Ind Kata), and The TSK Kata team (Gary Hall, Katie Hurry, and Hayley Ansell) won a Bronze in the Team Kata section

Kumite was on Saturday, Tom Gibbings (10) won his section, whilst Katie Hurry won Gold in the Girls 11 years, and Jermaine Perdreau won Gold in the Boys 12 years section. Hayley Ansell won silver in the girls 10 yrs, whilst Gary Hall won bronze in boys 10 yrs.

Sunday: Alex Courtley lost his 1st fight up against one of the Belgium National squad members, whilst Mark Farquharson reach the quarter finals losing to a member of the French National Team 3-2. Experience at the end of the day for these Juniors who placed in the top 3 at the recent E.K.G.B National Championships.

Overall result being 3 Golds, 1 Silver, and 4 Bronze. Well Done all those that competed.

FUTURE WORLD CHAMPION From World Champion to future World Champion. Katie Hurry ( 1998 English International Champion)with Tricia Duggin (1996 World Karate Champion) at the Shikon Squad training.

Katie who last year won a bronze at the same event is now working towards the Junior E.K.G.B in Aston Villa.
